First impressions

Moon Princess is Play’n GO’s anime-inspired cascade slot, released on 26 July 2017. It plays on a 5×5 grid rather than lines. You need three or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically, winning symbols are removed, and new ones fall into place. If a cascade makes another win, the process repeats.

The look is soft and colourful, but the maths is not. Databases rate the volatility as high, and the reported top RTP is 96.50%. The reported maximum win of 5,000x your stake comes from third-party sources, and at least one of them calls it optimistic in practice, so it is not a number to plan a session around.

What you are buying here is variety: three different princess features that can fire on dead spins, plus a respin and a free-spins round built on top. It is busier than most cascade slots, and that is the point.

Where to play Moon Princess in the UK

It is available at the UK-licensed casinos that carry Play’n GO games, and the game is the same everywhere. The RTP is not: the top build is 96.50%, with lower builds at 94.51%, 91.49%, 87.50% and 84.50%, and a scan of UK-facing casinos has recorded 91.49%. Five points of RTP is a real cost over many spins. The operator table further down lists the UK casinos where we found the game in the lobby on 13 October 2026; line-ups change, so confirm the game is in the lobby and read the RTP in the info panel first.

How it plays in practice

Most of the action is in the base game. A win removes the symbols involved, new ones drop in, and the win multiplier rises by one with each cascade in a chain. A Moon Wild can appear in place of the middle symbol of a three-symbol win, which helps chains continue. Hit frequency is not published by Play’n GO, so there is no official figure to quote.

Girl Power — the feature that fires on dead spins

On a spin that does not win, one of the three princesses can be triggered at random. Love transforms one set of symbols into another, which makes a match more likely. Star adds one or two wild symbols. Storm removes symbols from the grid so that new ones drop in. They are the reason a losing spin is not always a dead one, and they are the best part of the game.

Trinity and the free spins

Wins also charge a three-section meter: three, four or five of a kind fill one, two or three sections. A full meter triggers the Princess Trinity re-spin, where all three powers act together. The free spins are separate and come from clearing the whole grid. You then pick a princess (databases report 4, 5 or 8 spins for Love, Star and Storm) and that power stays active, with the multiplier capped at x20. Clearing the grid during the free spins pays 100x your total stake; one database says 200x, so we use Play’n GO’s figure.

Stake range and feel at low limits

Under UK Gambling Commission rules the online slot stake limit is £5 per game cycle for players aged 25 and over and £2 for ages 18–24. There is no autoplay and no turbo option, and each cycle takes at least 2.5 seconds, so cascade chains play out at a measured pace. At a small stake the base game is easy to sit with, but with high volatility the long runs without a Trinity or free-spins trigger are normal.

Moon Princess demo and free play

The demo above uses play money, which is the best way to see how the three princess powers behave and how often the meter fills. This review covers the original 2017 game. Moon Princess 100 and the other later versions are separate slots, so check the title before you play for real money.

How Moon Princess compares to other cascade slots

If cascades are what you want, Reactoonz is the closest relative in the same studio, with a cluster-and-meter loop of its own. The Play’n GO page lists the other games, and our cluster-pays ranking shows how the style compares across studios.

What we didn’t

  • High volatility, despite the friendly artwork

  • Play’n GO does not publish its own volatility or hit rate

FAQ

What is the RTP of Moon Princess?

The top reported RTP is 96.50%. Databases list lower provider builds at 94.51%, 91.49%, 87.50% and 84.50%, and one has recorded 91.49% at UK casinos. Check the info panel before you play; Play’n GO’s page does not state it.

How do you win on Moon Princess?

The game uses a 5x5 grid. Three or more matching symbols connected horizontally or vertically make a win. Winning symbols are removed and new ones drop in, so one spin can pay several times.

What are the Girl Power features?

On a spin that does not win, one of the princesses can trigger a feature. Love transforms one set of symbols into another, Star adds wild symbols, and Storm removes symbols from the grid. The Moon Wild can also replace the middle symbol of a winning combination.

What is the Trinity feature?

Wins charge a three-section meter. When it is full, the Princess Trinity re-spin triggers and all three princess powers act together. Free spins are triggered separately, by clearing the whole grid.

Is this Moon Princess 100 or Trinity?

No. This review covers the original Moon Princess, released on 26 July 2017. The later versions, such as Moon Princess 100, are separate games.
